These are the stampers that actually crush the rocks. Notice the second and forth stampers, from the left side, which are extremely worn down due to the constant pounding (the noise must have been horrific). The last stamper on the right is fairly new (much thicker)

A large scale drill press seen here within the machine shop inside the Standard Stamp Mill. I happened to be with an engineer that knew, and understood, all of these large scale tools. Made it even more interesting (thanks Paul)

After traveling throught the stamping and mercury extraction process room the crushed rock would come here for one final step to get any remaing gold and silver that may have gotten through

This shows the sluice box where the crushed rock flows downward pushed by water. Workers applied a coat of mercury within the sluice box that would hold the gold and silver particles as the material flowed down
